we have just returned from our main 1wks holiday from wheale rose and we were a group of 2caravans and 1 motorhome, we arrived to be greeted by the friendly owners Les and Jo and we were shown to our pitches which were very nice as we were all together as requested, again which were spotlessly clean, the only downside was the fact that we had a dreadfull problem trying to get the vans level due to the slope we were all on but we managed in the end by hunting out blocks of wood, the pool was great in the hot weather, also the showers were spotless, there could do with a skip in each of the park sections as it was a good walk up to the top of the site with the rubbish,( only a suggestion),the other thing we found was the shop was lovely the odd time it was open,i know it says just knock the house door but we felt we were being a nusiance evey time we wanted a pint of milk, especially when les was so busy trying to do repairs to the showers etc also jo busy doing a nice job to the gardens & flower pots,so we stocked up at the supermarket rather than using the shop, this said it wouldnt put us off visiting whealerose in the future.many thanks jo.bob.red.

Hi Les and Jo,
Just rerurned from our stay with you for our summer holiday for 10 days August 2009

Thank You so much for your hospitality, the personal touch you give to each and every one of your customers is very hard to find these days.

We and our children enjoyed our stay at your holiday park. Very much concidered to be your home. The touring feild we stayed on was fine and the pool area was ideal for the size of your park.
The toilet block was always kept clean as was the washing up and laundry facility. A reminder to the user of the washer that they are not to leave there items in the washer as other people require the use of them too would perhaps help. As sugested by Jo when we booked, being in the bottom feild was ideal for those with children as the play area was located here too.

Some thing for the future,
May be a road all of the way around the bottom field would be better for those of us with caravans and would avoid the mess made by the cars chewing up the grass when it gets wet.
You could perhaps do with a more industrial type washer and dryer fit for purpose.
A few more bins located around the site would be of use, in particular in the washing up area and may be the use of recycling bins where the main collection take place.
We experienced some issues with the electricity at a certain time of the evening but there was nothing more that Les could of done to put things right. Something I know you are planning to sort out for next year.
I was not so sure about the number of dogs allowed on one pitch and the type of dogs in the same area as children.

The location of your park is perfect for touring the whole of Cornwall. We made good use of the new shop and the prices were very fair. The short walk to the local pub was perfect after a day on the beach.

Many Thanks
See you next year

We have been holidaying at Wheal Rose for 8 years now and have always found Les and Jo to be the most helpful and friendly people. The site is spotless, as are the loos and showers. The addition of the swimming pool was welcomed - especially by our 11 year old! The new shop and games room will be a great addition for the new season. This park is well worth a visit.
