The Campsite

The campsite is set in a scenic, sheltered valley and surrounded by mature trees. We are small and friendly park for families and couples. There are 45 generous grass pitches of various sizes and 4 all weather pitches. All have electric hook up (min 8amp) included in the price.

Our extra large grass pitches are super-sized and you can now choose your pitch online when booking!

Surrounded by elderflower and rowan trees these level grass pitches are popular with caravans, campervans and motorhomes for easy access on and off the site. In this area we also have pitches that adjoin each other suitable for two families holidaying together. This is a great area for couples and dog owners, being closer to the mineral tramway for cycling and dog walks

Pitches by the Big Tree are centrally

located, well lit and and close to the shower block.

With lovely views across the valley and a selection of all weather pitches it is a great area for stays throughout the seasons. Families who like being near the facilities love the two large pitches suitable for larger family tents.

Loved by families in the summer, the bottom field is a surrounded by mature trees and farmland and provides a safe, area for children to play freely. The children's playground is here and there are a variety of pitches sizes to suit larger family tents and caravans.

A sheltered area you can sit back and enjoy the starry skies at night.

Static Caravans

For those who like the idea of the campsite but want their own facilities we have two static caravans available to rent in the summer months. The static caravans are mature but well cared for, and are ideal for grandparents holidaying with their camping families, or those with a small family.

Each caravan has two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles), shower and toilet, gas fire, tv, gas cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster. Pets are allowed in one of the caravans.

Helpful things to know

  • Check in from 2pm for pitches and 4pm for static caravans.  We don't have room in our car-park for early arrivals, but please do contact us to discuss if early arrival is needed, and in high season it may be best to book your pitch from the night before if this can't be avoided.

  • Check out is before 11am for pitches and 10am for static caravans

  • We ask that you aim to arrive before 6pm, but we know what traffic can be like in the summer, or if you need extra time because you are travelling down after leaving work, so please let us know by telephone or email if you will be late arriving so that we can make special arrangements for you. Unless there has been a disaster, last check-in is at 8pm.

  • Entry to the park for cars is by barrier entry only for which you will need a barrier card. Each pitch is provided with one barrier card. The deposit for the barrier card is automatically added to you booking and payment collected with your final balance before arriving.  On check-out you return your card in the collection box at reception and we will refund the deposit (providing the card is in good working order). The card is for your use only.

  • We allow coal or gas BBQs providing they are raised off the ground and placed on a paving slab. Any wood used on BBQs must be contained and used in small BBQs only - no large open fires, fire baskets or fire pits. Please do not use wood found on the park or damage the grass for the next guests. If unsure please contact us for clarification.

  • We have a mixture of 16, 10 and 8 amp electric hook ups on the site. If bringing an electric kettle please ensure that it is a caravan kettle under 2 kW (and not a house kettle) to avoid unwanted fuse tripping.

  • There are no bins in the main park area and we ask that all refuse and recycling are placed in the large bins that are towards the reception area. This helps to keep any bin smells and noise from glass recycling away from your pitches and stops your sleep being disturbed by the refuse collectors. Guests therefore find it helpful to bring black bin bags and also a sturdy bag for carrying bottles to the bin.

  • As a small park we are unable to take bookings for large groups - we accept couples and immediate family groups of no more than two pitches together only. No single sex or mixed sex groups, and we only accept bookings from persons aged 21 years and over.

  • Dogs are very welcome. We ask that they are booked in, kept on a lead and exercised off the park in order to keep the grass clean for children to play on. Please use the main bins to dispose of your doggy poop bags.

  • The Bottom Field is surrounded by a working farm. It is a beautiful, scenic place to camp but not completely quiet at all times. You will hear all the sounds of the animals, children, dogs and morning cockerel. And, as we are in a valley, on a still day you might hear the lamas, peacocks and dogs from the other farms and occasionally in the high season summer evenings some drifting funky music from a few miles away due to an Eco Park  event or an end of season beach party. Of course, they can hear us too, so for all the neighbours and your fellow campers we ask guests to respect quiet time between 11pm - 7am. We are still in negotiation with the cockerel and a few pigeons about this.
